Cambridge English has confirmed that paper-based A2 Key will run its last session on 13 June 2026, before being withdrawn entirely. For schools currently using this format, now is a reasonable moment to plan ahead. Two alternatives remain fully available: A2 Key Digital offers the same qualification with faster results and more flexible scheduling, while A2 Key for Schools, available in both paper and digital formats, is well-suited to younger learners and carries identical recognition. Notably, the words "for Schools" do not appear on the certificate.

Life is unpredictable; Illness, a missed train, an unexpected emergency. For a student who has spent months preparing for a Cambridge English exam, an unavoidable absence on exam day is costly. Without the right cover, it means paying the full registration fee all over again. The Swiss Exams Exam Retake Option, just CHF 30 added at registration, gives students the right to resit at no extra cost, at any Swiss Exams location, within 12 months. One small addition at registration is potentially hundreds of francs saved.
